Failing Back and Recovering Data
With the Failback option, you can copy a replicated VTL partition or NAS share from the target system to the original source or another DXi-Series system. Once the partition or share is copied to the source system, it can be recovered, and made available, on the source system.
Scenario: In this scenario, watch Dave Mason, who plays the role of Backup Administrator, demonstrate how to recover replicated NAS shares by using the failback and recover options. In our earlier scenario when setting up replication, the DXi8500 was the source system and the DXi7500 was the target. Now, however, we want to fail back data from the DXi7500 to the DXi8500. Therefore, the DXi8500 needs to be configured as a target, and the DXi7500 needs to be the source.
