Introduction

The library control blade, or "LCB," manages the entire library, including the operator panel and picker assembly, and is responsible for running system tests to ensure that the library is functioning properly.

The LCB compact flash card contains important information about your library configuration. If the compact flash card is replaced, then you will need to reconfigure your library.

The process in this video can be used in any of the following situations:

CAUTION: Do not Install LCBs or compact flash cards that were used previously in other control modules; it will cause a firmware hang during the boot process. Only use new FRUs, or components from the same control module. For example, you may install a new compact flash card but reuse the same LCB.

Before You Start

  1. Save the library configuration.
  2. Take all necessary ESD precautions to avoid damaging static-sensitive components.
  3. Disconnect all the cables from the existing LCB and label them to make sure you reconnect them properly.
  4. Power off the library from the front and rear panels.
