Quantum LTO Drives
Data Collection Tool: 

XTalk

High Level Overview data:

Select the “All log pages” option then review the Vendor ASCQ data given in each Log Page 0x33 entry. These are the error codes documented in the Lookup Tool.

IBM LTO Drives

ITDT or a library GUI

High Level Overview data:

High level data can only be obtained by the library. The i2k has always collected drive FSC codes, included as the Error Modifier in RAS tickets and stored in the rasdumpoutput file available in the library snapshot. Similar information will be included in the i500 RASlog starting with the i6 release. If this information is not available, then drive dumps will have to be collected and reviewed with ITDT-XE, only available to Quantum personnel.

Select the “Display_Log_Page_7_Data” option then review the Event and Bugcheck information provided

Note: SDLT is an end of life product with limited support. Some information for common events is provided in the Error Code Lookup Tool, however the history of the firmware issues fixed only includes the most recent changes. Use the information provided to help diagnose issues, then work to resolve issues by:

  • Upgrading to the latest firmware
  • Removing questionable media
  • Replacing questionable hardware

  • Upgrading to the latest firmware V10 for DLT V-4 or V50 for VS160
  • Removing questionable media
  • Replacing questionable hardware
